Description
The original garden gossip showed three birds perched between flowers, almost as if for a chat. "The Garden Gossip II" triptych introduces three new animals: a mouse, a rabbit, and a squirrel.
Just like the original set, "The Garden Gossip II” is inspired by European folk art themes and motifs. The prints bring to my mind traditional tapestries and old country homes, especially the ones I remember from my childhood in northern Finland.
The animals look like they have gathered together to exchange the tidings of the world and maybe to share some gossip, too. That's how I arrived at the name “The Garden Gossip” - after all, in the past, the word gossip meant a group of friends!
Printing method
Printed with hand-carved linoleum blocks and a printing press.
Paper
Please note that the paper may vary slightly from the one used in the photos.
Lightweight paper with deckled edges. Plant fibers are visible on the surface of the paper.
The paper is handmade, eco-friendly, and ethically sourced.
Inks
Solvent-free printmaking inks made from linseed oil and lightfast pigments.
Packaging
All prints are shipped in secure, flat packaging.
The packaging is plastic-free and made from eco-friendly materials - please reuse or recycle!
Signed and numbered by hand on the front side.
Due to the handmade nature of the medium, each print is unique. Colors and details may vary slightly.
